40 questions about 2004: an end-of-the-year memo

1. What did you do in 2004 that you’d never done before?
Eat lobsters as lunches and dinners 3 days in a row in summer at Bar Harbor (this is the first thing popping up to my mind :)

2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
didn’t have resolutions last year I guess, at least I don’t remember them…
I wish I could get my PhD degree and find a job as smoothly as possible

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Tons of! It’s like a fashion in my department.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thank God no!

5. What countries did you visit?
... I am stuck at USA..

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
Persistency! Persistency! Persistency!

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory?
May 16th… AC Milan officially celebrated their 17th Scudetto after 5 long years!

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finally on track in my dissertation

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not getting my proposal done :(

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Luckily no

11. What was the best thing you bought?
LOTR – ROTK extended version DVD. I simply love this trilogy.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Andriy Shevchenko! All of a sudden, he got his first Scudetto after 5 years in Milan, 2nd time top scorer in Serie A, got married to his long-time girlfriend and had a lovely son named Jordan. Last but not least, the Pallone D’ore, which is the dream of every professional football player.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Little Bush’s re-election. :(

14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent, I reckon…

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
lots. won’t name them.

16. What song/album will always remind you of 2004?
five for fighting’s ‘100 years’

I really dunno…

my research… :(

obsession with internet

with my boyfriend along with my roommate and two old-time friends. My roommate and I even decorated a nice Christmas tree.

21. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?
my boyfriend, no doubt about that.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
I was already in

23. How many one night stands in this last year?

24. What was your favourite TV programme?
our apartment has no cable, but I’d love to watch those soaps whenever had a chance. something like ‘friends’, ‘Joey’, ‘everybody loves Raymond’ and so on.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
I rarely hate ppl, even Bush…

26. What was the best book(s) you read?
If you mean English book(s), Harry Potter series.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I was so obsessed with LOTR trilogy soundtrack

28. What did you want and get?
year-long happiness

29. What did you want and not get?
why ask me again and again? my proposal done!

30. What were your favourite films of this year?
Since ROTK was back to 2003, I give this award to HP3… I watched 4 times already! Once in cinema, once in IMAX, once in other’s home, then DVD… I bought it at the first day of its release.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I forgot… ppl in my age aren’t very excited about their birthdays, thus I am not telling you how old I am.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If I have already found a job with decent paychecks…

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Changes dramatically… Thanks to my cousin who visited me from Canada during the summer.

34. What kept you sane?
education, good nature, and a great boyfriend who always supports me

above all, my parents

Argh, I doubt I’ve met any new person in 2004… Joking apart, no idea

Evading is just wasting your time. Eventually you will have to get your hands on and work until it is right.
