- Last Saturday was a long day for Matt Hunwick. The rookie was hospitalized in the morning due to a spleen injury and had to go under the knife to have it removed later in the afternoon. Nevertheless, the B's 5-1 win over the Habs at night would have surely put a big smile on the kid's face. Get well soon, Matty!
- The B's did some serious ass-kicking in game 2. They didn't only beat the Habs, but they beat them up. Except for the first two minutes in the 2nd period, during which the Habs scored their only goal and briefly made it a game (the score was 2-1 at that time), it was all B's. Two of the best things happened? One, Hnidy, in place of Hunwick, buried a wrist shot into the net to make it 3-1 only five minutes later. Two, Ryder, an ex-Canadiens who watched most of the playoffs last year in the media room, made his sweet revenge by scoring a beautiful drop-dead-gorgeous strike seconds before the 2nd period ended (Timmah got an assist! and Price was pulled at the beginning of the 3rd period - PRICEless).
- Hey my camera caught the moment when the puck crossed the goal line for Savvy's goal! That's my personal highlight of the game. XDDD But once again, during our power play, seconds after I stopped recording, we scored...
- OMG It was an unreal feeling to see Bergy drop the gloves! His first NHL fighting major! After two concussions! And he soundly won it by landing quite a few lefts on Gorges' chin and scoring the final smachdown. I was so lucky to witness the moment, dumbfounded. I guess everyone including poor Gorges was kinda dumbfounded that Bergy turned out to be a lefty (he shoots right). lol. Even Bergy himself went "well I just found it tonight myself" at his post-game interview. SO. MUCH. FUN.
- The crowd was even more awesome than in game 1, like it's even possible! The whole building went into a frenzy long before the warm-up. Someone even brought a huge spoked B flag and passed over on the stand. BIG WHOA! And those chants of "CAAAREEEY, CAAAREEEY" to make sure Price didn't forget his first name? YESPLZ!
- The only pity was that I wanted to have another look at the game on HDTV, but NESN didn't replay it. Looks like DVR does have a reason to exist.
